Farmers Branch, Texas is located in Dallas County sixteen miles north of Dallas on I-35. This small town is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Settlement in this community began in the 1850’s. The town name, Farmers, was given to reflect the fertile soil and rich farming opportunities in the area. The city was incorporated in1946 and the first mayor elected was William Dodson. Today approximately 29,000 residents call Farmers Branch home and live in this humid subtropical climate.
