Rowlett, Texas is located on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall County and Dallas County. Rowlett is approximately thirty minutes from Dallas and it is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The town is named after Daniel Rowlett, a resident in the area in 1835. Mr. Rowlett was a settler from Tennessee who became a prominent member of society after his service in the military in the Texas Revolution. In 1889 the Greenville & Dallas Railroad made its way through Rowlett bringing settlers from all over. Today 57,000 residents call Rowlett home.
